Bon Appétit Feature!

Bon Appétit, one of the most respected and widely read food and entertainment publications, recently put the spotlight on America’s canned craft beer industry, showcasing their “Top 10 Artisanal Canned Beers”. The write-up featured globally recognized breweries such as New Belgium Brewing Company, Oskar Blues and 21st Amendment, giving each a small description and image.

Buckbean is beyond honored and flattered to be featured in this line-up. It hasn't ran in print yet, but please check it out! This should help us expand even quicker than we are planning.

Very Noddy Lager

We've got a new beer on tap at the brewery!
Come down and try the VERY Noddy Lager. This Imperial Schwarzbier has twice the malt and hops of our Black Noddy Lager, creating a deep black color, rich, nutty malt flavors and a smooth hop bite. A symphony of balanced intensity!

Plus, Dan, our brewmaster, made it specially for Doug on his birthday. We think that's pretty adorable.

Don't forget to come down and ask about our great holiday gift packages! Who doesn't love to please your wallet, friends, and taste buds with the great deals we have on gift packages.

A question and answer forum of canned brewery owners and brewers specifically intended to answer the public’s questions regarding beer and canned beer is another great addition to the competition.
A display of mobiles built by local artists entirely from recycled beer cans, a promotion that directly benefits Sierra Arts, a local non-profit that helps establish and spread arts programs in the Truckee Meadows.

The Village (MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas) and Buckbean Brewing Company, the largest production microbrewery in Nev., host the second Village Beer Fest on Saturday, September 19, from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Tickets for the festival are available at the event for $20 per person which includes an engraved commemorative glass, with proceeds benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Southern Nevada (MDA).

CANFEST comes to Reno

Here is the press release for CANFEST 2009
Feel free to snatch it and post it around!

Note: Room rates for festival goers now listed!

Buckbean Brewing Company, Nevada’s largest production microbrewery, will bring to Reno this October the first ever CANFEST – Reno International Canned Beer Festival, the first international beer judging and tasting for canned beer, to take place at the Grand Sierra Resort & Casino, Oct. 23, 2009.

Buckbean, a company that packages their beers in environmentally-friendly 16 ounce aluminum cans, hopes to shed light on the various breweries across the US that distribute their brews in cans and crush the many myths regarding beer in cans. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Nature Conservancy and the Great Basin Bird Observatory.

The competition will commence and finish in the Grand Sierra Theater October 23, from 6:30 p.m. -10:30 p.m. Judging will take place prior to the public tasting. Celebrities from the beer world will judge the beers individually, based on categories still to be decided. Beer seminars, beer and food pairings and a forum of brewers that can beer are planned.

Along with Buckbean Brewing Company, Big Sky Brewing Company, Oskar Blues, Ukiah Brewing Company, Maui Brewing Company, Surly Brewing Company, New Belgium Brewing Company, Uncommon Brewers, and Rochester Mills Brewing Company are a few that have confirmed they will attend the event.

Ticket prices are $35 per person and room rates for attendees are $35 per night. For more information, please contact Constance Aguilar from Abbi Public Relations at constance@abbipr.com or by calling 775.323.2977.
