Naan & Kabab Beer Dinner

On Monday, May 23rd at 6:30 PM Naan & Kabab will be having a Buckbean beer and food pairing event to allow their guests to try our brews along with their great food. It will include tastes of all three of the Buckbean beers with a four-course meal featuring many of their menu items. If you have not tried their food, this is a must. Chef Maurice is brillant! Caughlin Club Beer Dinner

May 11th is our next scheduled beer dinner and it's taking place at the gorgeous Caughlin Ranch Athletic Club. Food & Beverage director Brandy Kuebler has concocted a menu that could make the driest of mouths water with anticipation. Spicy beer cheese soup, how delicious does that sound?!

3rd Anniversary for Buckbean Means Festivities for All!

Can you believe it? April 12 will be our 3rd Anniversary and we are celebrating starting Tuesday the 12th - Saturday the 16th.
We'll do specials all week, including:

TUESDAY: $2 pints all day and 20% off everything to go.

WEDNESDAY: Come hear " 'Something Old That's New Again': Nevada's Modern Brewing Industry" by Eric Moody at 7pm. He will discuss Nevada's modern brewpub/microbrewery era that began in 1987 with the first brewpub legislation. This event supports Nevada In The West magazine, and their one year anniversary of the publication. Also, get 20% off all things to go all day.

THURSDAY/FRIDAY: 20% off all things to go, which includes, growler fills, 4-packs, cases of beer, T-shirts, kegs and more.

SATURDAY the 16th: The Anniversary PARTY! All things are 20% off and pints are $3. Best of all, we will release a limited edition anniversary beer called Bourbon Barrel Double Duck. This ale is a stronger, hoppier version of our Tule Duck Red Ale, which was aged in a bourbon barrel. It is 8% ABV, velvety rich and extra smooth, with more pronounced hop aroma and a hint of bourbon and wood flavors.

NEW Black Adder IBA, NEW Hours and Valentines Day Gift Bag

Wooo-hooooo! We have a brand new beer coming out this Friday (Feb 4)! The Black Adder IBA (India Black Ale)! This black IPA is fully black in color, with a nutty, roasty malt character and a moderate body, with a full, bright hop bitterness and aroma. De-husked black malt provides color and roastiness without astringent sharpness, and dark Caramel and Special Roast also deepen the color while imparting mild sweetness with lots of toasty complexity and depth. Newport, Palisade, Glacier and Ahtanum hops create multiple layers of crisp, American character with no harsh edges. It is 7.3% ABV and has 85 IBUs. Please come down to the brewery and enjoy $2 pints of any of our beers THIS Friday, February 4th. We also plan to can a limited amount of this IBA for sale only at Buckbean, and it will be available mid to late February. Finally, fill up growlers for half off on Feb 5 for the Super Bowl.

We have NEW hours for our bar that should be more convenient for those getting off work, and unable to make it to Buckbean by 6 PM. The new hours are:
Tuesday from 3 PM to 6 PM
Wednesday to Friday from 3 PM to 8 PM
Saturday from 11 AM to 6 PM
Also, during our extended hours 6 PM to 8 PM (Wed through Fri), you can get $3 pints, and if you need a snack, we have mini pizzas, potato chips and popcorn.

Lastly, Beer and Chocolate - a great combination! This Friday, February 4th through Valentines Day, you can get a Valentines Gift Bag for the one you love. Get six truffles, made here in Reno by Sweets Handmade Candies, three beers and a pint glass for only $20. Each beer is paired with two truffles that make a wonderful combination. Christmas Time!

To ring in the 2010 Christmas season, we've got several offerings and happenings from us to help keep you all warm and fuzzy with beer!

First off, on December 16th, Reno's Firkin & Wolf Pub and Restaurant will host their first Buckbean Beer Dinner!
The menu is as follows:
Original Orange Blossom Ale with rosemary lavash with smoked Chinese chicken, sweet pepper relish, toasted coriander and sweet mustard sauce
Tule Duck Red Ale with bitter greens tossed in lemon oil and sea salt, topped with venison and wild mushroom Wellington with smoked tomato relish
Black Noddy Lager with Kahlua roast port over Hawaiian slaw with toasted sesame dressing, carmelized pineapple and sweet chili
Very Noddy Lager with roasted hazelnut cannoli with mocha java mousse and toasted pecan praline

Secondly, we've got a birthday bash for our brewer Dan this Saturday the 11th at Buckbean. Come down and get Very Noddy Specials, play darts, hang out with Dan and listen to him spread his gospel of beer, but also be the first to try the new Bourbon Barrel Tule Duck Ale! Dan's been been brewing special batches of Tule Duck in oak Bourbon barrels and it'll debut tomorrow for the public to slurp, gulp, or sip to their enjoyment. We'll also have live music from 4-6!
